The Grants module of Imperial College Information Systems (ICIS) is an award management system uses to administer research awards.

Request access to the Grants module
You must determine which Cost Centres, Awards and Projects you need to run enquiries on before requesting access to the Grants module.
There are two types of access for the Grants module: Principal Investigator and Administrator. Go to to decide the type of access you need.

Use Firefox or Internet Explorer to access ICIS, not Google Chrome or Safari.
Instructions for requesting access to the Grants module
To apply for Principal or Co-Investigator access, follow these steps:
- Go to (using Firefox or Internet Explorer, not Google Chrome or Safari)
- Select Submit request to update ICIS account
- Click Proceed
- Scroll to the bottom and tick Grants
- Click Proceed
- Select Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator access and click Proceed
- Enter the awards and projects you need access to in the format displayed and select the Research Administrator for your Faculty. See the

Your request has been submitted. Make a note of the reference number displayed in case you have a query.
To apply for Administrator access, follow these steps:
- Go to (using Firefox or Internet Explorer, not Google Chrome or Safari)
- Select Submit request to update ICIS account
- Click Proceed
- Scroll to the bottom and tick Grants
- Click Proceed
- Select Administrator access and click Proceed
- Select the first option if you require access to specific projects or awards and click Proceed. If you do not, go to step 10
- Enter any awards and projects to which you need access in the format displayed and select the Research Administrator for your faculty. See a
- Click Proceed and your request will be submitted
- Select the second option if you require access to all projects within a division, department or section and click Proceed
- Click Confirm Faculty
- Select the HR Organisation you want access to
- Select Yes if you require access to all of the subgroups within the HR Organisation selected and click Confirm Primary Organisation. You request is now complete
- Select No if you only require access to one particular Cost Centre and click Confirm Primary Organisation. A number of Cost Centres will appear for you to select. If you require more than one Cost Centre, highlight the first one and hold the CTRL key on your keyboard and highlight the others

Problems accessing the Grants module
Try pressing and holding down the CTRL key on your keyboard and performing the Export function at the same time.
If this works, it probably means that you have an issue with pop-up blockers. The usual culprit for pop-up blockers is a Google, Yahoo or other toolbar installed on your PC or laptop's browser. The easy option is to delete the additional toolbars then try the Export function again without holding down the CTRL key to see if the Export function is working again.
