It is everyone's responsibility to ensure data is stored appropriately especially if you are the data owner. Information governance is a key responsibility of every member of the Imperial community and everyone has a part to play in adhering to Imperial's guidelines.

GDPR

It is important to carefully consider 'Confidential' and 'Restricted' data to ensure compliance with legal restrictions such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or contractual limitations.

DART

Date Asset Registration Tool (DART) processing is required for all data that is collected, stored or processed by Imperial environments. DART is not the same as an Ethics Committee approval which approves the who and why of data processing, DART records the what, where and how we process the data. Find out more about DART and access the DART tool.

Research Data Management

Funded projects - If you are working on a funded (P code) research project and are unsure of what data classifications you will be working with, please contact [TBC]

Non-funded projects - If you are working on a non-funded research project (F and N codes) and are unsure of what data classifications you will be working with, please speak to your [Head of Department or Data Protection Officer TBC].

All access requirements should be defined in the DART record as part of the initial application, and then ongoing processes to ensure our records are kept up to date, so that we are collecting, processing and storage data in line with approved ethics, contractual, legal and regulatory requirements.

you can find further research data management policies, training and support on the Scholarly Communications Research data management pages.
