There are a number of different ways to login to ICIS depending on what functionality you require.
ICIS self-service (no VPN, RDG or secure access required)
from any device that has an internet connection to access:
- My Details - update contact details
- Manager Self-Service
- My Expenses
- Payslips
- My Training
- iProcurement
- All approvals - PO, expenses etc.
- Email approvals - expenses and purchasing (limited visibility)
ICIS backend (full functionality requiring secure access or RDG)
If you are working remotely, and require full access to ICIS, you can log in using the application ‘secure access’ or if you have a desktop on campus you can use a remote desktop connection to access the following:
- HR backend
- Contingent worker maintenance
- Finance backend
- Finance enquiries
- Purchase order management
- Grants enquiries
- ICIS authorisation (request access to ICIS)
Access ICIS using secure access gateway
To access the Imperial College Information Systems (ICIS) away from the college, follow these steps:

- Enter your College username and password and press the Sign In button. The system will perform a series of checks to ensure that your personal computer meets our security standards. This process may take a few minutes for the system to complete
- Go through the instructions provided to rectify the security problems that the system has found, if any
Once you have corrected any errors that may be listed, you will be given access to ICIS.
You should see a small blue icon with a white padlock on it in the taskbar on the bottom right of your screen. This is a helper program that is required to operate ICIS. If you don't see this icon, follow these steps:
- Click the Start button next to the text that says Windows Secure Application Manager
- Click on the ICIS Production button, which will log you in to ICIS
If you have any problems, please complete the , clearly stating you are trying to log in to ICIS whilst working remotely.
