We offer Imperial Inspires scholarships for all our undergraduate courses, including integrated Master’s courses, such as MEng and MSci courses, as well as selected postgraduate taught courses.  

Imperial Inspires scholarships are not available for postgraduate research and doctoral courses.

Yes. If an Imperial Inspires scholarship is available for the course you apply for and you meet the scholarship eligibility criteria and the minimum entry requirements for the course, you will be invited to apply to be considered for an Imperial Inspires scholarship.

We’re currently offering Imperial Inspires scholarships for undergraduate courses and selected postgraduate taught courses to international ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ who are eligible to pay our Overseas rate of tuition. In future years, we plan to launch additional scholarships for ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ from the UK. 

We strongly encourage you to apply as early as possible after applications open.

Undergraduate applications for 2027 entry can be submitted to UCAS from 2 September 2026. Postgraduate taught applications for 2027 entry can be submitted from September 2026.

No. Attending our events does not form part of the scholarship or admissions selection process.

No. Imperial Inspires is a global programme, open to talented ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ from all countries who meet the eligibility criteria. 

If your course is participating in Imperial Inspires and you meet the eligibility and minimum entry criteria, you will be invited to apply to be considered for an Imperial Inspires scholarship.  

If an Imperial Inspires scholarship is available for your course, you will be invited to apply to be considered for the scholarship providing you meet the scholarship eligibility criteria and the minimum entry requirements for your course.

Yes. You can still accept your offer and enrol at Imperial even if you are not awarded the scholarship.

Imperial Inspires is a competitive, partial scholarship, and not all applicants will be successful.  

Applicants should therefore ensure they have alternative funding plans in place. 

Yes. If you apply to Imperial again in a future cycle and meet the eligibility criteria for Imperial Inspires, you may be considered for the scholarship again. 

The scholarship is intended to support you for each year of your degree, provided you maintain satisfactory academic progress and meet any continuing requirements set by Imperial. 

Yes. As with most scholarship programmes, you will be expected to maintain good academic standing and engagement with your course. 

The scholarship may be withdrawn in circumstances such as withdrawal from your course, failure to meet academic expectations, or breaches of university regulations. 

Scholarship decisions are final within each application cycle and there is no formal appeals process.

However, if you apply again to Imperial in a future admissions cycle and meet the eligibility criteria at that time, you may be considered again for an Imperial Inspires scholarship. 

Your Faculty will determine how the scholarship is paid. The scholarship may be split equally between your tuition fees and living costs (offered as a maintenance stipend) or the full award may be used towards your tuition fees.

Successful applicants will be informed of how their scholarship payment will be arranged after selection. 

In some cases, it may be possible to receive additional funding alongside an Imperial Inspires scholarship. This will depend on the terms of each award and will be confirmed as part of the selection process. 

Yes. Imperial Inspires is a partial scholarship, so you will be responsible for covering any remaining tuition fees and living costs not covered by the award. 

Scholarship decision timelines will be aligned as closely as possible with the admissions cycle. We will publish further information about our decision timelines on this page before applicants are informed of the outcome of their Imperial Inspires application. 

We aim to inform applicants as soon as possible. Exact timelines will be confirmed closer to the application period. 

No. Scholarship decisions are separate from academic admissions decisions. 
Your application for admission is assessed independently based on your academic merit and suitability for the course. Being considered for, or receiving, an Imperial Inspires scholarship does not influence whether you receive an offer.  

No, the scholarship cannot be deferred. If you defer your place at Imperial, you will need to re-apply for the scholarship in the year you start your studies. This also applies to ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ who need to complete compulsory national or military service before starting university. 

Scholarships are linked to specific courses. If you change course, your eligibility will be reassessed and the award may not continue. 

If you withdraw or suspend your studies, your scholarship will end. 

Imperial Inspires is designed to bring together a cohort of exceptional ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ from around the world. Over time, we expect to develop opportunities that enable scholars to connect, collaborate and share their experiences. 

As an Imperial Inspires scholar, you may be invited to contribute to Imperial initiatives such as events, outreach activities or student ambassador programmes. 

Imperial Inspires is a long-term initiative, with plans to expand the programme and introduce additional opportunities in future.
