Technical information about this website鈥檚 accessibility

Imperial business school is committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the

Compliance status

This website has been tested against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.

This website is partially compliant with the听听AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

We remain committed to improving accessibility and welcome feedback to help us identify and address any barrier.

Non-accessible

1.听Across all tested pages, the user is unable to view and interact with the sub-navigation menu items by using Dragon Naturally Speaking. When 鈥淪how Links鈥 is activated, the navigation only shows the main landing page links, when听the user chooses a link or announces the menu item in full, it directs the user to the landing page only.

Additionally, on the 鈥楳BA Brochure鈥 page, the user is unable to interact with any of the form听fields听which means they are unable to fill it in and听submit听it. Furthermore, the user cannot interact with the 鈥淗ow to Apply鈥 links on the 'Full-Time MBA听Admissions'听page.

On the 鈥極ur Students鈥 page, the phrase 鈥淪how Links鈥 does not highlight any of the student profiles. To interact with these profiles, the user must navigate to the last filter option and tab their way through them, which is not practical and could take a long time if they specifically want to read a profile which appears at the bottom of the list.听

All these elements, fail WCAG 2.2 success criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value). We are working on addressing these issues; however, we need our content management supplier鈥檚 (HubSpot) input to resolve them. We are aiming to resolve them by December 2026.

2.听鈥楨vents Listing鈥 page that the left-hand sidebar navigation links are not grouped using a <nav> element, this will cause screen听reader users confusion as they may not be able to understand these elements鈥 relationship, nor can they navigate quickly to key sections of the page.

This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships).听We will make sure that all key sections of our pages are grouped together correctly, therefore easy to navigate, by December 2026.

3. The form that is present on the 鈥楧ownload MBA Brochure鈥 page does not听contain听any听fieldset听or legend. Additionally, on the 鈥極ur Students鈥 page the 鈥楩ilter By鈥 dropdowns were not grouped. This could affect screen reader users by making it more difficult to understand. Because the relationship between the form fields and Related form elements are not grouped with听fieldset/legend. 鈥

This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships). We are planning to group all related form elements together by a听fieldset/legend,听e.g.听the user's home听address听and work address fields. After this remediation, the three distinct sections of personal details, study intentions, and professional details will be grouped together. We are aiming to complete this by January 2026.

4.听On the 鈥楧ownload MBA Brochure鈥 page when form fields received focus, the visible boundaries have low contrast ratio against the page background. The play button on a video on the 鈥楬ome鈥 page lack contrast when hovered.听Additionally, on the 鈥楬ome鈥, 鈥楳BA Landing鈥, 鈥楩ull-Time MBA鈥, 鈥楳asters Landing鈥, and 鈥楩ull-Time MBA (FTMBA) Admissions鈥 pages, the blue calls to action are displayed on a blue background when received focus, the focus indicator has a contrast ratio of less than 3:1 against the background. There is also not enough contrast between the visual boundaries of user interface components in a selected or focused state and the background. These may affect users with low vision or colour blindness.

This fails WCAG 2.2 criterion 1.4.11 (Non-Text Contrast). We are aiming to correct contrast issues by December 2026.

5.听On the 鈥楧ownload MBA Brochure鈥 page, the 鈥楶lease select鈥 placeholders within the form dropdowns have a听low colour听contrast ratio against their background. The red asterisks on the 鈥楧ownload MBA Brochure鈥 page have a low contrast ratio. These may affect users with low vision or colour blindness. This fails WCAG 2.2 criterion 1.4.3 (Contrast minimum). We are aiming to address all contrast issues by December 2026.

6.听On the 鈥楧ownload MBA Brochure鈥 page after applying custom CSS styles, text within the form, including the 鈥楽tay Informed鈥 section below it, does not receive custom styling. This could affect users who rely on custom CSS styles to make text more readable.听This fails WCAG 2.2 AA 1.4.12 (Text Spacing). We are aiming to achieve custom styling abilities on form texts by December 2026.听

7.听On the 鈥楧ownload MBA Brochure鈥 page mandatory fields are听indicated听using an asterisk, with no message informing the user what the asterisks represented. It is expected that a message is present to inform users, such as 鈥楢ll fields marked with an asterisk are required鈥. This could affect users, particularly those with cognitive impairments or who are unfamiliar with the convention of using an asterisk to denote mandatory fields, as they may not understand which fields are听required.

This fails WCAG 2.2 criterion 3.3.2 (Labels on instructions). We are aiming to add relevant instructions (such as 鈥渞equired鈥) to form elements, or we will provide听the relevant information within the element's label (or if a label is not provided, within the element's title attribute) to explain what is required such as a specific format, value, or length. We are planning to complete this work by December 2026.听

8.听On the 'Download MBA Brochure鈥 page, the visual boundaries of form field elements have a low colour contrast ratio against the page background. This may cause users, with low vision, or with colour blindness difficulties as it will make it difficult to distinguish the edges of each form field. This fails WCAG 2.2 criterion 1.4.11 (Non-Text contrast). We are aiming to resolve these contrast issues by December 2026.

9.听There are pre-recorded videos on this website that do not have either a descriptive text transcript or an audio description track. This could affect users who are blind or have low vision, as they may miss important visual information conveyed in the videos that听is听not provided through audio听description.听This fails WCAG 2.2 criteria 1.2.3 and 1.2.5 (Audio Description or Media Alternative). We are aiming to include either a descriptive text or audio descriptive tracks on to the pre-recorded videos by December 2026.
