April 2026

  • Our former (and brilliant) Mres student Sophie Cooke has secured a prestigious departmental PhD Scholarship to continue Maddalena Salvalaio's work on root electrotropism. Sophie will start in October 2026, and we just can't wait to have her back!
  • We thank Syngenta to support a Mres+PhD 天美传媒hip on a project in collaboration with , , and . The project will look at real soil structure and mimic it with 3D printing technology. We are now actively recruting for a start in October 2026!

March 2026

  • Happy to announce that our student Owen Iredale-Ward succesfully passed his PhD viva, brilliantly concluding his flawaless PhD path. We are now working together on his first-author manuscropt to be submitted soon. Congratulations Owen, and all the best of luck for your future adventures!
  • We welcome Kyle Chu as a MRes student in our lab, to work on a quantitative project looking at the interaction between gravitropism and hydrotropism in Arabidopsis roots.

February 2026

  • We welcome Flinn Laslet as a Mres student shared with the laboratory of Claudia Contini. He will work on a bold and exciting project titled "Engineering Biohybrid Plant Protoplasts".
