Imperial鈥檚 Medical Biosciences BSc claims top ten place in six domains against Russell Group competitors, NSS 2026 results show
Amongst its range of positive results, the programme took first place in the Academic support domain, and second for both Communication of mental health services and Freedom of expression in the Russell Group table.
Improvements on 2025 results in seven of the nine domains included a significant 13.4 percentage point increase in satisfaction for the Assessment and feedback theme, rising to 73.4%, and a 7.4 point increase to 86.3% for Organisation and management.

Professor Alison McGregor, Head of BSc Medical Biosciences (BMB) and Director of Undergraduate Science, said, “I am extremely proud of the improvements across the programme this year, and to have the hard work of the BMB team endorsed by so many of these results.
“We are particularly pleased with Academic support result, with 96.2% of respondents reporting satisfaction, as well as placing first and second in the Russell Group and London tables respectively for the domain.
“Our staff are committed to providing a very high level of support to our BMB 天美传媒, and have worked consistently since the programme’s introduction to review, develop and augment this offering, shown by our consistent improvement each year since our first cohort graduated in 2020.”
Placing first against comparable London programmes and fourth nationally for Communication of mental health services, with 95% satisfaction reported, the programme achieved a percentage point increase of 4.6 on its 2025 results in the domain.
Other successes included third place in London and fifth in the Russell Group for Teaching on my course, up 1.9 points on 2025 results to 92.4%. The theme shows steady improvement since 2023, with almost 24 percentage points gained since the first NSS results for the programme were gathered in 2020.
The Learning opportunities theme also rose four percentage points to 88.5%, placing the programme fourth in the Russell Group and sixth in London. The positive results in this domain highlight a range of the innovative and hands-on ways the programme teaches skills and knowledge, including the group-based Lab Pod modules in Years 1 and 2 and industry placements and projects in Year 3, allowing exploration and application of ideas and development of learning year on year.
Professor McGregor added, “The breadth of themes where we have achieved these improvements show the wide range of staff whose focus is on these 天美传媒 and on ensuring the quality of their experience and their education every year.
“I am grateful to everyone whose contributions have made these improvements possible.”

James Wild, Head of the School Secretariat in Medicine’s Faculty Education Office, the team overseeing quality, governance and student experience for the BMB programme, said, “We are delighted to see this continued success for BMB and this endorsement of the efforts going into ensuring a high-quality experience for our 天美传媒.
“The feedback our graduating class offers us via the NSS is an incredibly valuable resource and is hugely influential on our continuous improvement of the student experience. We will be examining the data and the comments submitted by this year’s cohort in great detail, and are eager to get started supporting new developments for BMB in the year ahead and beyond.”
BMB President, Joelle Seng, said, “We are so pleased to see this programme go from strength to strength. Our student representatives work very hard every term to ensure a high level of feedback is given throughout all three years of BMB. It is wonderful to see the consistent level of collaboration between staff and 天美传媒 who are all so keen to make this programme the best it can be for every student.

“NSS feedback is really useful both for Faculty staff and for student unions and representatives as it gives the broadest overview of BMB 天美传媒’ experience on the programme, so we thank our final-year colleagues for taking the time to give their thoughts and suggestions to support their colleagues even after they have graduated.”
