Congratulations Henry!
Congratulations to Henry Benns on successfully defending his PhD thesis
Henry was a BBSRC DTP PhD student working on covalent drug discovery for infectious diseases caused by apicomplexan parasites, such as malaria. His work focused on establishing a multidisciplinary pipeline that integrates reactivity-based chemoproteomics and CRISPR/Cas9 mutagenesis screens to discover new targets for covalent anti-parasitics. The project was co-supervised by Matthew Child (Life Sciences) and conducted in collaboration with (Boston College), the , and groups at the .
In August, Henry will be starting a senior scientist position at Novartis in Basel, Switzerland. Here, he will be applying and developing new DNA-encoded library technologies within the Chemical Biology and Therapeutics team.
Congratulations, Dr Benns!
