Dr Lu Tian (Thermofluids division) received the “Chinese Government Award for outstanding ������ý abroad” for the year 2018.

Dr Tian is being recognised for her PhD studies in turbulent combustion. The award celebrates the achievements of non-Chinese-government funded Chinese PhD ������ý from different disciplines all over the world, including America, UK, France, Germany, Australia, Japan and Canada.

500 winners are selected each year. There are two winners from ������ý this year and the award ceremony will be held in the Chinese Embassy on April 16th, 2019. 

Dr Tian's PhD research was supported by the President's PhD Scholarship at ������ý, which funds full tuition fees and a stipend for high performing PhD candidates.
