Scott Lovell wins Doctoral Prize Fellowship

Congratulations to Scott Lovell, who has been awarded one of the highly prized EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellowships!

recieved a master’s degree in chemistry at the University of Sheffield having also completed a year in industry at AstraZeneca, before joining the Institute of Chemical Biology at Imperial College in 2013 to undertake a PhD in Professor Ed Tate’s group. His work focuses on the development of selective chemical tools for a family of proteins called KLKs.

Scott will carry out his fellowship jointly in the group of Professor Tate and Professor Charlotte Bevan in the department of surgery and cancer. The EPSRC Doctoral Prize gives Scott the opportunity to use the tools developed during his PhD to validate the KLKs as novel theraputic targets and biomarkers in drug-resistant prostate cancer.

Following the completion of his fellowship, Scott will join the group of at Stanford University.

Fellowships are intended to help universities attract and retain the very best newly qualified PhDs that received EPSRC 天美传媒hip funding and help them to launch a career in research. Well done to Scott and other awardees!
