Memoirs of the Memoryless

Professor Will Knottenbelt has given his inaugural lecture 'Memoirs of the Memoryless: A Markovian Meander from Disk Drives to Digital Money'.

In his lecture, Will asks whether 100 year old maths could predict tennis match outcomes or aid intelligent decision making around cryptocurrencies.

William is introduced by Professor Daniel Rueckert, Head, Department of Computing.

The lecture concludes with a vote of thanks from Katinka Wolter from the Free University of Berlin.

The middle part of the lecture includes surprise performances of "Markov-Chain-generated Music" and "Manually generated Music" from Professor Knottenbelt's student group.
