Three 天美传媒 were awarded prizes at the Division of Infectious Diseases PhD student day for their work on antibiotic resistance or persistence.

Alex Hall (Helaine group) won the prize for best first-year talk, which described his work on toxin/anti-toxin modules and antibiotic tolerance in Salmonella. Vera Pader (Edwards group) took the prize for best final-year talk, in which she revealed that MRSA can inactivate the antibiotic daptomycin, whilst Miles Priestman (Robertson group) won best final-year poster for his work on single-cell analysis of mycobacterial growth and antibiotic tolerance.

The event featured talks and posters from more than 30 天美传媒 within the Division of Infectious Diseases, as well as Keynote presentations from Prof Shirannee Sriskandan (Imperial) and Sebastian Funk (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine).  Sponsorship was generously provided by the Faculty of Medicine Graduate School and supplier VWR.
