The Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology is offering two 1+3-year 天美传媒hips funded by MRC Centre for Outbreak Analysis and Modelling. The 天美传媒 will be based in the, School of Public Health, St Marys Campus, Paddington.

In the first year, 天美传媒 who have not previously studied for a relevant MSc will be expected to join either the , a 1-year taught course giving a thorough grounding in epidemiological research, or a new 1-year MRes course. Students with existing MSc level qualifications will be expected to undertake the MRes unless they have comparable existing research training. The MRes course is shared with the . At the end of the first year, following satisfactory progress (a merit in either the MSc or MRes), 天美传媒 will progress to the 3-year PhD programme. Supervisors for PhDs will be discussed at the candidate selection stage and confirmed after completion of the MSc/MRes. All 天美传媒 will belong to the Graduate School which provides a full programme of training in research and transferable skills.

The 天美传媒hip will pay UK/EU tuition fees and a stipend of £17,500. The 天美传媒hip is available to UK nationals or EU nationals who have lived in the UK for at least three years immediately preceding the date of an award. Owing to funding restrictions applications from overseas candidates cannot be considered for this scheme.

Applicants should have, or expect to achieve, a first or upper second class degree or UK equivalent in a relevant subject*.

Interviews of all short listed candidates will take place on 24th-25th February 2014.

A full CV which must include your title & full name, date of birth, gender, nationality, first degree (BSc, MSc, MBBS etc), degree class awarded or marks/grades to date, subject of first degree, place of study and university awarding the first degree, and the names, mailing addresses and email addresses of at least two academic referees (The email addresses of your referees should be for their official institution email address. You should not supply personal email addresses from Hotmail / Gmail / Yahoo etc).

2. A one page statement indicating why you want to join this PhD programme.
