The class of 2012 have just taken their final exams and every student took part in a tradition where an exam is sat in fancy dress.

The class of 2012 have just taken their final exams and every student took part in the tradition where ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ sit this exam in fancy dress. This year ‘The Stig’ made a guest appearance to see two dinosaurs, two knights (not in battle), the Avengers, a cave man and a cave woman, visitors from Alice in Wonderland, an RSM notebook and many others.. harry potter... take their last exam before graduating in the Department of Earth Science and Engineering, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½

This even more motley crew of animals, fictional characters and inanimate objects than previous years will soon be taking the knowledge they used in their last exam and applying it in the real world. Many of them already have offers of professional employment, even though they have yet to officially graduate, others in this group have already secured PhD positions around the world. Last year 90% + of our ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ had full time professional employment at graduation and were on their way to successful careers as geologists, geophysicists, environmental consultants and even city bankers. The global demand for high quality earth scientists and engineers means our ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ also work around the world, from Australia to Norway. We continue to help them thrive in their careers long after they leave us by connecting them with alumni and alerting them to opportunities.

The class of 2012 sat their last exam – the toughest one of all four years – before leaving for a fieldtrip to the Apennines, and returning to complete the final stages of their MSci thesis... it’s not quite over yet!
