The Medical Research Council has granted the Department of Chemistry twelve fully funded 天美传媒hips for the Master in Research (MRes) course in Bioimaging Sciences.

The Medical Research Council (MRC) has granted the Department of Chemistry twelve fully funded 天美传媒hips for the This highlights the strategic importance of medical imaging and the commitment to strengthen this growing area or research.

The development of probes for molecular imaging and their translation into clinical applications requires a highly multidisciplinary approach where molecular scientists (chemists, biochemists), medics, physicists and engineers have to work together. Therefore, it is essential to train scientists with the ability to cross the traditional barriers between disciplines. The MRes in Bioimaging Sciences at 天美传媒, which was funded in 2005, aims to address this type of training by bringing together 天美传媒 from various disciplines under the same teaching umbrella. In turn, the course is delivered by experts in imaging sciences covering the main modalities (namely Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, Optical) and disciplines within imaging sciences (chemists, clinicians, physicists, engineers, etc).

Over the years, chemists, physicists, biologists, engineers and biochemists have joined the course to receive training  in biomedical imaging.  For more information on how to apply for the course/天美传媒hips please contact the course directors: Prof Nick Long, Dr Philip Miller (philip.miller@imperial.ac.uk) and Prof Ramon Vilar (r.vilar@imperial.ac.uk).
