    Senior Lecturer in Bacterial Genomics

    Research interests

    My work focusses on the biology of multi-strain bacterial populations, primarily  Streptococcus pneumoniae  (the pneumococcus). Such microbes often vary extensively in characteristics such as antibiotic resistance, virulence and expression of antigens that are potential vaccine targets. To understand this variation, my research encompasses laboratory molecular microbiology, analysis of genomic datasets, and computational modelling.
