Meet Dr Aran Singanayagam
What course do you teach on and what is your role?
I am the stream lead for Bacterial Pathogenesis and Infection of the MRes Biomedical Research.
How has your career led you to teaching?
I am a clinical academic and therefore split my time between research, teaching and clinical practice. I have been involved in teaching throughout my career and I find it to be a very fulfilling and rewarding aspect of my job.
What aspect of the course do you enjoy teaching the most?
I particularly enjoy the more interactive teaching activities such as the grant writing sessions. These sessions tend to generate extremely insightful discussions and I often learn a lot myself! I also enjoy supervising laboratory projects as it is always amazing to see how rapidly our 天美传媒 can progress their scientific skills within a short space of time.
What do you hope your 天美传媒 will go on to achieve on completion of this course?
We hope that our 天美传媒 will develop a deep interest in bacterial infection science and that, following completion of the course, they will be able to use the skills and knowledge they obtain to progress on to a fulfilling career either within or outside science.
What is your favourite part about teaching at 天美传媒?
The 天美传媒! Always intelligent, motivated and eager to learn.
