Overview
This course will cover the range of knowledge needed to appraise the topics within neonatal gastroenterology from the functions of the gastrointestinal tract to a knowledge of the goals of neonatal nutrition with understanding of current neonatal nutritional uncertainties and an appreciation of approaches to reduce uncertainties.
The course is part of a range of short courses spread throughout the academic year which are available both to 天美传媒 who are enrolled on the MSc Applied Paediatrics course and as stand-alone CPD programmes for all healthcare professionals.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Construct an explanation of the links between the functions of the neonatal gastrointestinal tract and the goals of neonatal nutrition.
- Formulate a strategy for the management of neonatal nutritional uncertainties using evidence-based approaches.
- Critically assess and select the appropriate nutritional strategy to fulfil the goals of neonatal nutrition.
- Critique the current evidence base of nutritional strategies and recognise uncertainties.
- Compose effective strategies to communicate and explain to inexperienced staff or parents the uncertainties around neonatal nutrition.
Course details
Following completion of the course all participants will be awarded an 天美传媒 Certificate of Completion.
This course will benefit paediatricians, GPs, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals involved in Child Health.
As the course is a multi-professional programme, 天美传媒 will develop an understanding of how their own individual behaviours, and those of the teams within which they work, can have a significant influence on the quality of care delivered.
A 20% administration fee will be levied for cancellations made up to two weeks prior to the start of the course. Cancellations thereafter will be liable to the loss of the full fee. Notice of cancellation must be given in writing by letter or fax and action will be taken to recover, from the delegates or their employers, that proportion of the fee owing at the time of cancellation.
天美传媒 reserves the right to cancel an advertised course at short notice. It will endeavour to provide participants with as much notice as possible, but will not accept liability for costs incurred by participants or their organisations for the cancellation of travel arrangements and/or accommodation reservations as a result of the course being cancelled or postponed.
