The AI in Healthcare programme from Imperial empowers healthcare professionals, leaders and innovators with the critical knowledge and tools to evaluate, adopt and scale artificial intelligence (AI) in real-world clinical environments. Amidst the growing demand for AI-driven healthcare solutions, the programme addresses the critical need for senior healthcare leaders like you to balance innovation and regulation, leading scalable, real-world AI adoption.

Led by Brendan Delaney, Chair in Medical Informatics and Decision-Making at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½, this six-week programme offers an understanding of AI including Agentic AI and an in-depth understanding of the regulatory frameworks for effectively evaluating and implementing AI tools. You will also gain a comprehensive AI skill set and the confidence to implement cutting-edge AI technologies in healthcare environments. Upon successful completion of the programme, you will earn the associate alumni status.

Programme Director, Chair in Medical Informatics and Decision-Making

Brendan Delaney works in the Department of Surgery and Cancer, Faculty of Medicine at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½, based within the I-X Institute and the Institute of Global Health Innovation. With a pioneering career in clinical informatics for 22 years, he has led significant international programmes, including NIH’s ePrimary Care Network and the €9M TRANSFoRm initiative, to advance LHSs. His current research focuses on explainable AI in primary care, integrating machine learning with Electronic Health Record (EHR)-based clinical decision support. With over 350 publications to his credit, Professor Delaney also advises UK research councils and champions innovation, aiming to balance safety and collaboration across disciplines.
