The AI in Healthcare programme from Imperial empowers healthcare professionals, leaders and innovators with the critical knowledge and tools to evaluate, adopt and scale artificial intelligence (AI) in real-world clinical environments. Amidst the growing demand for AI-driven healthcare solutions, the programme addresses the critical need for senior healthcare leaders like you to balance innovation and regulation, leading scalable, real-world AI adoption.
Led by Brendan Delaney, Chair in Medical Informatics and Decision-Making at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½, this six-week programme offers an understanding of AI including Agentic AI and an in-depth understanding of the regulatory frameworks for effectively evaluating and implementing AI tools. You will also gain a comprehensive AI skill set and the confidence to implement cutting-edge AI technologies in healthcare environments. Upon successful completion of the programme, you will earn the associate alumni status.

Through a comprehensive curriculum, the programme integrates AI technology, policy, leadership and regulation, enabling you to effectively evaluate various health care AI tools and strategies. It provides a holistic understanding of how AI can enhance care delivery safely, ethically and sustainably.

By the end of the AI in Healthcare programme, you will be able to:
- Analyse the opportunities, risks and constraints of applying AI across healthcare settings, particularly in diagnostics, clinical decision-making and workflow optimisation.​
- Differentiate among AI model types and their applications within healthcare contexts.
- Design leadership strategies for driving AI transformation and improving patient outcomes.
- Evaluate key regulatory and cybersecurity considerations governing AI as a medical device across UK, EU and US jurisdictions.​
- Apply AI principles and the Learning Health System (LHS) framework to real-world use cases.​
- Assess the strategic and regulatory implications of AI adoption.​
