Who is this course for?

Designed for complete beginners, this course is for those who want to start speaking, listening, reading and writing in German. Over the course, you will learn greetings, pronunciation, basic grammar, everyday vocabulary and simple conversations for travel, work and social situations.

If you are not completely new to German, we recommend contacting us for a free language level check prior to enrolment to ensure correct placement.

Course overview

This course focuses on the spoken language and aims to equip you with the skills needed for everyday situations in a German-speaking environment. You will learn how to introduce yourself and others, describe your home and daily activities, shop for and order food and drink, make travel arrangements, ask questions, formulate simple descriptions, express opinions, and acquire a good basic vocabulary.

The weekly programme will depend on the specific group, with content being adapted to meet the needs and skills development of the learners. The sessions are designed to be accessible and engaging, encouraging interaction and active participation.

Advice on which course textbook to buy will be given before or in the first class.
