The Inspiring Women – Executive MBA Scholarship has been created in support of the 30% Club’s mission to achieve at least 30% female representation on FTSE-100 boards. Offering access to a wide array of opportunities, including cross-company mentoring and exclusive networking events with female business leaders, this scholarship is open to all female candidates applying to study the Executive MBA. Its main aim is to empower women to become influential leaders in business and beyond.

In this blog, Pragya shares what drew her to Imperial’s Executive MBA and breaks down the impact of receiving the Inspiring Women – Executive MBA Scholarship. She also reflects on the role of female representation in the C-suite and offers advice for women considering applying.

Why did you choose to study the Executive MBA at Imperial?

I chose to study Imperial’s Executive MBA to broaden my leadership scope. Having spent over a decade across consulting, banking and technology, translating strategy and technology into compelling narratives, it felt like the right time to take a step back and deepen my understanding of the underlying drivers – data, AI, finance and how businesses make strategic decisions in technology-intensive environments.

Imperial’s Executive MBA consistently stood out as the strongest choice, offering rigorous engagement with AI, data analytics and corporate finance at a world-class STEM institution. Through this programme, I feel confident that I will be able to build the capabilities I need to operate at the highest levels of leadership, where strategy, innovation and execution intersect.

What motivated you to apply for the Inspiring Women – Executive MBA Scholarship?

When evaluating scholarship options, the Inspiring Women – Executive MBA Scholarship stood out for what it represents. Throughout my career, I've built networks for women in tech and telecoms, championed female visibility in organisations and seen firsthand that investing in women's leadership is strategic.

Applying felt like a natural extension of that conviction. Institutions that are serious about advancing women deserve applicants who are equally serious about stepping forward.

What does receiving the Inspiring Women Scholarship mean to you?

I received the email informing me that I had received the scholarship during a family holiday weekend in Cornwall. I felt this immediate rush of gratitude and energy—and yes, a little pride if I'm honest. I shared the news with my family and then stopped for a Cornish ice cream. With a pre-schooler, that seemed the most appropriate way to celebrate.

Executive education requires significant investment, and whilst the financial support matters, what resonated most was the sense of being deliberately backed by Imperial. It validates the intentional pause I’ve taken to deepen my technical and strategic expertise and recognises the diversity and breadth of my professional experience, spanning across industries and countries. This is particularly impactful at a time when women often question whether investing in themselves is justified.

Women in senior leadership often build reputations for delivery and reliability – both strong qualities. But being selected for this scholarship shifts the emphasis towards potential and future impact. Not only was that both affirming and clarifying, but that validation creates space to focus on this transformative year without hesitation – and without guilt.

How will this scholarship support your academic and personal goals?

It provides three critical things: financial confidence, intellectual focus and community.

Financially, it removes a significant barrier. This support means I can approach the programme with full attention rather than worrying about finances. That matters for genuine focus and engagement.

Intellectually, it creates space to engage properly with domains I've worked adjacent to but want to master, including corporate finance, AI and data analytics. These increasingly underpin every strategic decision, and Imperial's integration of business and technology offers exactly the depth I was seeking.

It also connects me with a community of accomplished women navigating senior leadership across different industries and contexts. That network will matter throughout my career, not just during the programme. These are the conversations that shift perspective.

What doors has this opportunity opened for you so far?

So far, the scholarship has opened conversations that have expanded my thinking and network, with faculty, alumni and fellow scholars. Being part of a deliberately selected cohort creates a different quality of engagement. I am looking forward to the annual gathering where women scholars from top MBA programmes across the UK meet. Networking alongside other ambitious women creates bonds that often outlast the qualification itself.

The scholarship also carries weight professionally. When you're formally recognised for leadership potential, it shifts how others perceive your trajectory. That's not performative, it's simply the reality of institutional endorsement.

Perhaps most importantly, it has reinforced confidence. I'm entering this programme not as someone seeking opportunity, but as someone whose potential has been recognised and backed. That matters for how I show up and what I contribute.

What do you think makes the Inspiring Women Scholarship unique?

Many scholarships focus solely on financial access. The Inspiring Women Scholarship is designed to accelerate women who will shape organisations, industries and the broader business landscape. It recognises that barriers to women's advancement aren't just financial, they're cultural, structural and often psychological.

Imperial's distinctive position at the intersection of science, technology and business makes this scholarship particularly powerful. As industries are reshaped by AI, digital transformation and sustainability imperatives, leaders must be both technically literate and commercially astute. For women building careers in these domains - where we remain underrepresented at senior levels - that combination is essential.

Why do you think female representation in C-suites and on boards is important?

In financial services, technology and regulated industries, leadership teams operate under considerable pressure – navigating disruption, managing risk and balancing competing stakeholder interests. Diverse teams allow for better resilience. They surface blind spots, challenge assumptions and bring different frameworks to complex problems.

Representation isn't only about fairness, though fairness matters. It's about governance, risk management and sustainable value creation. Organisations that reflect the markets and communities they serve are better positioned to understand them, which seems rather fundamental when you say it aloud.

For younger women entering these fields, seeing women in senior roles expands what feels attainable. I want my son to grow up thinking women making strategic decisions is normal rather than noteworthy. That cultural shift compounds meaningfully over time, and it starts with who's in the room.

As a female leader, how do you hope that this scholarship will help you make a wider impact in senior leadership?

Giving back has always been part of how I work. I plan to utilise the opportunities of the scholarship in the following ways:

Mentorship. Throughout my career, I’ve mentored women navigating complex organisations, created spaces for honest conversations about progression and supported female talent where representation matters. I’ll continue that during the Executive MBA, particularly for women considering executive education while balancing senior roles or family commitments.

Structurally. As I move into more senior roles, I want to ensure talent isn’t constrained by informal networks or unspoken rules. The most lasting change comes from embedding fairness into systems, not relying on goodwill alone.

Culturally. I hope to model leadership that is rigorous and humane — clear in direction, open to challenge and grounded in integrity. If we can show that authority and empathy aren’t mutually exclusive, that can have a lasting impact.

What do you think will make someone stand out in their application for the Inspiring Women Scholarship?

I would say three things stand out.

Clarity of purpose. Why the MBA, why now, why this programme. Be specific about what you want to gain, not abstract about "leadership development."
Demonstrated impact. Evidence matters more than titles. Show outcomes you've shaped, challenges you've navigated and value you've created.
Multiplier effect. Scholarships are investments. Committees assess whether backing you will influence things beyond your individual career - organisations, industries, communities. Show how you'll pay it forward.

Authenticity matters too. The strongest applications are honest and grounded in genuine ambition, not what you think they want to hear.

Do you have any advice for those considering applying for the Inspiring Women Scholarship?

Don't wait until you feel entirely ready.

Many capable women delay applying because they believe they need one more credential, one more promotion, one more year of experience. Growth rarely happens at the point of complete comfort.

If the opportunity aligns with your ambition and trajectory, apply. The process itself will strengthen your clarity about what you want and why. You may also discover that others see potential in you that you're still learning to claim.

Take your time with the application. It takes longer than you expect, not because it's complex, but because you're distilling significant history into clear intention. Be specific. Ask trusted mentors to review your materials - they'll spot patterns you might undervalue.

The committee cannot invest in you if you don't put yourself forward. Trust your preparation, articulate your vision and step into the opportunity. You might be more ready than you think.

How Imperial Business School provides opportunities for women

Imperial Business School has some excellent opportunities for women. As women, we are given the chance to network with other intellectual females both within the school and beyond.

Various workshops provide help and suggestions on how to tackle the daunting challenges faced by women in the workplace. Industry specific events, such as Women in Finance, Women in Tech, and many more, are also held where we can network with industry experts and leaders, gaining key insights on breaking into the industry and navigating the numerous challenges. Exclusive access to careers events allows female ��ý to gain key insights from graduate employers.

Women at Imperial Week is held each year, where the Masters’ ��ý get to have breakfast with the esteemed board, attend keynote events, leadership workshops and even masterclasses on personal issues like dealing with menopause - an issue all women face at some point in their work life.

The support I have received as a woman

Receiving Imperial’s Global Online MBA Women’s Scholarship Award was an immense financial aid, but also an enormous boost to my confidence to do something for the women of my firm, my community and my country. Furthermore, the Business School held a Scholarship Breakfast Event for all scholarship recipients, giving me the opportunity to network with the best of the best. It felt great to celebrate with Imperial.

My female role model

The Global Online MBA programme has a Personal Leadership Journey module, for which we had to write a report on a professional role model. I chose and interviewed Dr Rubana Huq for my report, who has been my female role model for a very long time now.

Dr Rubana Huq is currently leading Mohammadi Group, one of the oldest and most renowned conglomerates in Bangladesh, which initiated its’ operations in the ready-made garment (RMG) sector in 1986, currently having more than 10,000 employees. She served as the first female president of the primary trade body of the RMG sector of Bangladesh, BGMEA. Additionally, Dr. Huq is an academic scholar, currently serving as the Vice-Chancellor of Asian University of Women (AUW). The list of her achievements and accolades is vast, including being featured in BBC 100 women in 2013 and 2014.

Imperial’s mentorship as a woman in business

A dedicated career consultant was assigned to us at the very beginning of our Global Online MBA journey. My counsellor, Marie Portier went through my Strenthoscope assessment, which summarised my strengths and performance risks and measured my leadership effectiveness. She also went through my career plans, set up action plans for me and gave me personalised advice in my welcome meeting.

My advice to other women

As a female student in business I would really stress the importance of gaining knowledge and exhibiting that with confidence. Staying updated on industry trends and developments and the pursuit for continuous learning can show peers, colleagues and supervisors that you do not take things for granted. Confidence is key. From my experience, it is very important to trust yourself and your capabilities, which will take your further in business.

An additional advice for Imperial Business School ��ý is using and making the most out of the resources provided for you as a female student. Seek mentorship from the other strong females in the community and build a strong network while you are a student. The most oddest friendships and contacts have proven to be invaluable to me in my professional life and personal life alike. Most of these resources are available to you, exclusively, even as an alumni and I strongly advise you to make the most out of it.

LGBTQ+ Scholarship recipient, Lindsey Pigott, currently studies MSc Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Management here at Imperial Business School. To mark LGBT History month, Lindsey talks us through her experience of applying for the scholarship and how it supported her journey through Imperial.

Growing up and realising you are different in any capacity can be very difficult, not only at a societal level but also from an individual level. In a lot of ways, I spent a long time being embarrassed about the things that made me different. Some of them were relatively innocuous; for example, I read comic books and listened to heavy metal. However, some aspects of identity can seem much more all-encompassing. This was especially prevalent when I came out as a part of the LGBTQ+ community. However, I learned to appreciate the things that set me apart and see them as strengths.  

Before I attended Imperial Business School, I volunteered for four years at my college’s Centre for Diversity and Inclusion. I had several leadership roles during this time. One of these positions was moderating a weekly discussion group for queer women on campus. I also participated in a faculty and student initiative conducting diversity training for university departments as well as local community groups. I truly enjoyed my time volunteering in these positions and gained many integral business skills such as communications and conflict management. 

While searching for a Master’s programme, it was important to me that the university I chose saw individuality and uniqueness as strengths rather than weaknesses. I wanted a classroom that was forward-thinking and encouraged innovation. This is what brought me to Imperial Business School. Imperial encourages diversity in both academics as well as in their student body. 

When looking for information on how to fund my education at the Business School, I came across the LGBTQ+ Scholarship. The application process was a short video discussing my past history and experience as a part of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as what I would bring to Imperial and a future career. Since it was a completely remote, pre-recorded video, the application process really allowed me to gather my thoughts and concisely discuss my previous life experiences. This made it less nerve-wracking in comparison to other scholarship applications. I heard back very quickly on my acceptance, only two weeks after I applied. It was an incredible feeling to have been awarded the scholarship and confirmed that Imperial Business School would be the right environment for me.  

I was very grateful to be awarded this scholarship and I highly recommend applying. Not only has it helped me fund my studies, but I have been able to access events and receptions for other scholarship recipients to network and meet other incredible peers. I found Imperial to be a very welcoming environment and I cannot recommend Imperial and the LGBTQ+ Scholarship enough.

Why did you choose to study the Full-Time MBA at Imperial Business School?

My unending curiosity and desire to learn have led me to apply to Imperial Business School. My professional and academic development in the United States has served me well; however, I am pursuing my postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom to broaden my horizons beyond the borders of my home country and to challenge my preconceived notions.

The opportunity to study abroad offers an invaluable international perspective that cannot be attained within the comfort zone of one’s home country. London undoubtedly adds a multicultural dimension to the study of business, while also serving as a pinnacle of leadership with a longstanding impact on the global economy from historical times to the present day.

My pursuit of an MBA at Imperial Business School is motivated by the distinguished legacy of this prestigious institution, which has helped shape prominent world leaders. I am confident that my endeavours here will enhance my trajectory as a leader and economic visionary.

What does the scholarship mean to you?

I have found the most rewarding times of my life thus far are not those in which I achieved individual success but the times I advocated for and helped others to flourish.

By linking my success to that of my peers, I will promote personal and professional growth beyond the classroom. How did you feel when you found out you’d secured this scholarship?

I understood the significance of this scholarship in relation to my personal financial situation. I recognised that I would need to secure a scholarship to attend Imperial Business School, and given the seriousness of this reality, I was highly motivated to complete the application.

To say I was overwhelmed with joy and gratitude when I secured this scholarship is an understatement. I was so humbled and honoured to have received such a reward. I physically dropped to my knees and expressed my gratitude to the Lord, and after that, I was physically jumping with joy upon receiving the news.

How will this scholarship support you?

Receiving the Imperial Advisory Board Scholarship is profoundly significant for the enrichment and optimisation of my MBA journey. As the programme is condensed into a single year of intensive study, the financial relief provided by this scholarship allows me to focus wholeheartedly on my studies. It also grants the peace of mind needed to fully immerse myself in the MBA programme, ensuring I can dedicate the time and effort required to achieve the academic excellence for which the brightest Imperial ��ý are renowned.

Furthermore, this scholarship offers the flexibility to actively engage with, and invest in, the international community of London and the UK beyond the MBA programme. This opportunity enables me to gain diverse perspectives and deepen my understanding of global business dynamics.

What opportunities has this scholarship provided you with so far?

As an Advisory Board Scholar, I recently attended a Scholarship breakfast, where I networked with fellow scholarship recipients from the Full-Time MBA and Global Online MBA programmes. Many key leaders from Imperial Business School, who influenced the scholarship decisions, were also present and eager to connect. I learned I would have the opportunity to join an Imperial Advisory Board meeting, and everyone I met was warm, welcoming, and supportive.

Access to such a prestigious network is an invaluable gift, and I am both humbled and excited by this honour. The scholarship encourages me to take on various leadership roles on campus, and I am proud to give back to Imperial Business School as the Student Staff Council Chair, Student Events Ambassador, and Student Content Creator.

What makes this scholarship unique?

The Imperial Advisory Board Scholarship is the only scholarship granted by Imperial that fully covers the tuition fees for the MBA programme. However, its support extends far beyond financial benefits. The scholarship encourages and supports ��ý through leadership opportunities such as serving as a Student Ambassador, holding an Student Staff Council position, or taking on a role within a Careers club. Additionally, recipients have the opportunity to meet the Imperial Advisory Board, which is composed of some of the world’s most influential business leaders.

How did you balance scholarship applications with other commitments?

Regardless of your programme, Imperial Business School will teach you time management skills. You'll encounter numerous opportunities and must prioritise those that matter most. During my application process, I balanced scholarship applications with a full-time job and personal commitments, taking care to thoughtfully consider each question. I recommend starting early to give yourself ample time to plan and reflect, ensuring your answers are both effective and authentic.

What’s your advice for scholarship applicants?

I encourage all applicants to Imperial Business School with a passion for leadership to apply for the Advisory Board Scholarship. You don't need a fully detailed plan for your time at Imperial, but you should set strategic goals for what you wish to achieve beyond earning your degree. Remember, your MBA journey is about championing others, not just personal aspirations. Together, we can create a meaningful impact for the greater good. Clearly articulate your vision for helping others succeed alongside yourself.

I am honoured to have received the Dean’s Impact Scholarship, which recognises individuals striving to create meaningful benefits for businesses and society through innovative and disruptive thinking. This prestigious award highlights achievements in five key areas: entrepreneurship, technology and innovation, sustainability, social impact, and leadership.

I was selected for this scholarship specifically for the social impact I’ve made through my volunteering efforts in Latin America and my funding efforts to make education accessible in these disadvantaged regions. Receiving the Dean’s Impact Scholarship is not just an acknowledgement of my past efforts, but a source of motivation and encouragement to continue expanding my impact. It reassures me that the work I’ve done is seen and valued, and it inspires me to push further and make an even greater difference in the future.

How did you feel when you learned you’d secured this scholarship?

When I found out I had secured the Dean’s Impact Scholarship, I was delighted and elated. Sometimes, I tend to downplay my achievements because it can feel like I’ve only made small efforts. However, receiving this scholarship made me realise that those efforts are meaningful and have been recognised. It was a moment of true joy and fulfilment, knowing that the impact I’ve worked towards is valued and acknowledged.

What motivated you to apply for this scholarship at Imperial Business School?

I was motivated to apply for the Dean's Impact Scholarship due to its focus on rewarding individuals who aim to make a meaningful difference in society. Given my passion for social impact and my goal of leveraging financial knowledge as a tool for positive change, this scholarship felt like the perfect opportunity to align my personal values with my academic journey. I saw it not only as a way to fund my education but also as a platform to amplify the work I have already been doing and to push myself further.

How will this scholarship support you?

This scholarship will support me in multiple ways, both academically and personally. Academically, it will allow me to focus fully on my studies without the added pressure of financial concerns, ensuring I can make the most of my time at Imperial. Through these gatherings, I have not only made new friends but also built a supportive environment where we help and encourage each other, both academically and personally. These connections have been instrumental in enhancing my experience at Imperial Business School.

What are the most important qualities scholarship committees look for?

I believe scholarship committees seek passion, drive, and a clear sense of purpose. It’s not just about academic success; they want to see candidates motivated to create change, with a proven track record of making a positive impact. Leadership and resilience are also important, as they look for individuals who can inspire others and overcome challenges in the pursuit of their goals.

How did you balance scholarship applications with other committments?

Balancing scholarship applications with schoolwork and other commitments was certainly a challenge, but I managed by staying organised and setting clear priorities. I ensured I dedicated specific time slots to focus on the applications and broke the process down into manageable steps. I also reminded myself of the long-term benefits a scholarship would provide, which kept me motivated to put in the extra effort.

What’s your advice for scholarship applicants?

My advice would be to stay authentic and make your personal story stand out. Don’t be afraid to highlight the unique ways you have made an impact and the values that drive you. Committees are looking for applicants who are genuinely passionate about their work, so let that passion shine through in your application.

Imperial Business School is a proud partner of the Forté Foundation, a non-profit organisation that champions women’s progression within business through access to education. In addition to the financial support provided, Forté Fellows have access to several unique resources from Forté Foundation including participation in their annual conference, exclusive networking groups, free lifetime premium membership and more.

Annelise Wipfli, Full-Time MBA student attended Forté’s 20th anniversary celebration event, held at Imperial Business School. As a Forté fellowship holder herself, she shares her motivations for applying for this scheme, what this fellowship means to her and the key highlights of this event. She also shares her advice for women who are considering applying for the Forté Fellowship.

Why I applied for the Forté Fellowship

My motivations for studying a Full-Time MBA at Imperial Business School include gaining career acceleration, international work and life experience and to build a network of international professionals who share a similar growth mindset. My long-term goals include being a leader in Marketing working for a global FMCG or Tech firm.

I first heard about the Forté Foundation when I began to research MBA programmes. It was an organisation that immediately captivated my attention and was something I wanted to be a part of. Being surrounded by women seeking similar career goals but also to get involved to help pave the way for women of the future was a motivation for applying.

What the Forté Fellowship means to me

As someone who is funding my own studies, receiving this fellowship has had a significant impact on me being able to support myself through my MBA journey. Just six weeks underway, the Imperial Full-Time MBA is already proving to be a deeply transformational and rewarding experience and I am energised to see what the rest of the year and beyond has in store. Becoming a Forté Fellow not only has enabled this journey to happen but will pay dividends in the future as I extend my reach and connect with other women apart of this organisation.

What the Fellowship means to my peers

As I talked with my other forte fellows in my cohort, Maria Luisa Mena said,

“The Forté Fellowship not only enabled me to pursue my MBA dream but also provided me with a sense of companionship and support throughout the entire journey. This support came not only from their platform and a variety of discussions and resources but also from the camaraderie of fellow Forte women who, like me, are on the same path.”

My Advice

My advice to women considering applying for this type of scholarship would be, know what makes you unique and know that what you are bringing to the table is unique and valuable. Bet on yourself.

The 20th Anniversary Event of the Forté Fellowship

I really enjoyed attending the event at Imperial , celebrating 20 years of Forté. The event was about recognising the achievements that have been made, the women in our Imperial community who have contributed to this mission and connecting with others so we may work together to continue to pave the way for the future.

The event included speakers like Leila Guerra, Vice Dean (Education) at Imperial Business School and Krystal Brooks, Director of Development at Forte.

Krystal Brooks, Director of Development at Forté highlighted Forte's accomplishments over the past 20 years. Krystal then introduced two women who had received the Edie Hunt award for their contributions in pushing forward to mission and vision of Forte across the UK, Aoife Considine & Alberta Asafo-Asamoah.

Feeling inspired by the Forté Foundation

I was blown away by the incredible women at this event and by and the impact they have had while also recognising the work is never done. I plan to apply this into my academic journey through my positions as a Student Ambassador and Vice President of the FMCG, Luxury and Retail Club. I will connect with prospective ��ý about Imperial Business School and the Forté Foundation. I will help them understand how they may bring their own experiences and goals to create an impact in this space, as well as supporting the women within the club to create new connections, network, and secure a role within the FMCG industry.

How did it feel when you found out you’d secured this scholarship?

I was absolutely delighted when I learned I had secured the Women’s Scholarship. I have been planning to pursue an MBA at Imperial Business School for several years now and so, when I discovered that not only had I secured my place on the course but had also been awarded this scholarship, I felt grateful and truly excited to start on this new journey.

What motivated you to apply for this scholarship at Imperial Business School?

I initially qualified as a lawyer and then transitioned to a commercial role in the aviation industry; both the legal and aviation industries are still some way off achieving parity of representation for women at senior levels and so, throughout my career, I have been keen to explore how best to attract and retain female talent within these industries. When it came to applying for my MBA at Imperial Business School, I was keen to continue my commitment to women’s issues and I felt the Women’s Scholarship was the perfect way to advance that aspiration.

What does this scholarship mean to you in terms of your academic and personal goals?

This scholarship has boosted my opportunity to commence my journey in the world of business academia, which I believe will provide me with a sound basis of understanding across a broad gamut of business topics. This I see as key to my future success in a commercial role. On a personal level, the scholarship has enabled me to realise my ambition of pursuing a truly global MBA programme with a cohort that is diverse in terms of both location and business background. It has also given me the opportunity to attend a world class university that puts the student at the centre of the academic experience.

What advice would you give to ��ý who are aspiring to earn a scholarship?

Reflect on your skills and experience and apply for the scholarships where you feel you have the best chance of success and that you believe reflect your values. Whilst some of the scholarships are more general in nature, others have a specific focus (e.g. leadership, diversity etc.) and so, I would encourage all ��ý to consider what is the best fit for them. As scholarships are typically awarded early in the process, my advice to future ��ý would be to apply for your course at Imperial Business School as early as possible.

The Imperial Global Online MBA Women’s Scholarships are awarded to women showing exceptional academic achievement and professional excellence, as well as a commitment to supporting women in business.

How did it feel when you found out you’d secured the Imperial Women’s Scholarship?

I was extremely excited and honoured to have been selected for this prestigious award at such an acclaimed institution! I felt empowered to pursue my dream and to be part of this amazing community of women leaders at the Imperial Business School during my time as a student and beyond.

What motivated you to apply for this scholarship at Imperial Business School?

In addition to providing financial support, scholarships offer an excellent opportunity to network with high-achieving colleagues and enhance one's competitive profile. Personally, I was particularly interested in the Imperial Women's Scholarship. This interest arises from my background in humanitarian work with UN Women in New York during the emergence of the MeToo movement where I met many influential businesswomen who are committed to women's empowerment. Additionally, my experience working with Zaha Hadid, a highly influential female architect in a predominantly male-dominated industry, further fuelled my advocating for more women in leadership and interest in this scholarship.

To increase your chances, it is important to apply early and dedicate enough time to prepare.

What does this scholarship mean to you in terms of your academic and personal goals?

As I pursue my MBA while working and facing the challenges of being a new mother, I represent a significant portion of applicants who are highly passionate about advancing their careers. However, it would have been impossible for me to be here without the financial support of the scholarship.
