In this blog, Aditya Moudgil, MSc Business Analytics student shares his experience, securing the Bright Network Scholarship.

Securing this scholarship

When I first learned that I had secured this scholarship, a rush of emotions washed over me, swinging between profound disbelief and overwhelming relief. As an international student, the significance of financial stability cannot be overstated. It's not just about pursuing an education; it's about leaving behind everything you've ever known and immersing yourself in a new country, all while trying to balance expectations.

Receiving this scholarship was akin to a lifeline, and it's difficult to put into words the immense relief that I experienced. It felt like a validation of all the hard work, sacrifices, and dedication I had poured into my academic & career journey so far. It was a moment when the weight of uncertainty was lifted, and I could breathe easier, knowing that I had the financial support I needed to pursue my dreams.

My motivations for applying for this scholarship

During my scholarship search, I found The Bright Network scholarship, which focuses on strong leadership principles. It resonated with me due to my experiences at Amazon. My time at Amazon has not only honed my leadership skills, but also inspired me to excel in business leadership. I believe that this scholarship aligns perfectly with my academic and career journey, given my rigorous expectations at Imperial Business School this year. It serves as a catalyst for my aspirations, propelling me toward academic achievement and impactful leadership in my career.

What this scholarship means to me

This scholarship holds immense significance for me. As an international student, managing finances can be an arduous challenge, especially in a vibrant, multicultural city like London, where the allure of art, business, and philosophy events constantly beckons. The scholarship has alleviated the financial strain, providing a sense of stability that allows me to truly immerse myself in both my academic and personal pursuits.

Concerning my academic goals, the scholarship has granted me the freedom to channel my focus entirely into my studies, enabling me to strive for excellence beyond the ordinary. This newfound financial security has instilled a profound sense of confidence in my abilities, affirming my potential like never before.

On a personal level, I'm now eager to expand my horizons further. I plan to seize the opportunity to enrol in additional adult education courses offered by Imperial London, delving into creative arts, philosophy, and audio engineering—a passion I've nurtured since my teenage years. While I continue to pursue MSc Business Analytics with unwavering dedication, I understand the importance of being multifaceted in today's dynamic world. This scholarship not only paves the way for my academic achievements but also grants me the chance to explore and develop my diverse interests, ultimately shaping me into a more well-rounded and fulfilled individual.

My advice for those considering applying

I strongly advise aspiring ��ý to vigorously seek out and apply for all eligible scholarships. If you have any uncertainties about eligibility, don't hesitate to contact the university for clarification.

Remember, devote as much effort to your scholarship application as you do to your university application. Scholarships can turn dreams into reality, so approach the process with passion, diligence, and unwavering self-belief. Candidates who submit their application for an MSc programme before the deadline advertised below and receive an offer for the programme will automatically be considered for this scholarship. Successful candidates will be notified by the Admissions team. Awards will be assessed from the initial deadline onwards, and you are therefore encouraged to submit your application as early as possible in order to maximise your chance of success. Awards may not be granted following every deadline, as all scholarships in this category may have been awarded in a previous round, or there may be insufficient eligible candidates in a round.

As they embark on their academic journeys, ��ý will engage with a rich variety of core modules, electives, and hands-on projects. This curriculum not only broadens their expertise in their chosen fields but also equips them with the skills needed to excel in prominent organisations or to create impactful start-ups that contribute to positive change worldwide.

MSc Business Analytics

Ranked 8th globally in the QS Business Master’s Rankings 2025 for Business Analytics, the MSc Business Analytics at Imperial equips graduates for a future where data-driven decision-making is paramount. While the programme is rooted in robust technical and quantitative training, it also emphasises practical application through sector-focused electives and projects, allowing ��ý to customise their learning experience.

Students can choose between a one-year, full-time programme on our London campus or a part-time, two-year online option that offers the flexibility to study from anywhere in the world.

This year’s full-time, on-campus Business Analytics programme achieved strong female representation (47% female) and has ��ý from a wide variety of academic backgrounds, with the most common degrees being: Engineering / Technology, Business / Management and Science / Medicine / Maths. The programme has 85 ��ý from 32 nationalities and an average age of 23.

The online, part-time Business Analytics programme has 32 ��ý, from 21 nationalities, with 62% female representation and an average age of 27. Many of these ��ý choose to take advantage of the part-time nature of the programme and continue working in their current roles, where they can apply the learnings to their day-to-day projects.

What motivated you to choose online education at Imperial Business School?

I was drawn to the online learning experience at Imperial because it allowed me to receive a world-class education while continuing my academic career as a teaching assistant. This programme has provided me with tools to tackle real-world problems, which I’ve been able to apply directly in my job. Moreover, it has enriched my teaching by enabling me to demonstrate how these problems are solved to my ��ý.

How have you found online learning so far?

The Hub (the Imperial virtual learning platform) has been an excellent learning platform. It provides access to lectures, core and supplementary readings, and timely feedback from the teaching assistant teams. My experience in the programme has exceeded my expectations—professors and TAs are always responsive, even when my questions extend beyond their direct areas of expertise.

How have you built connections and networked with your peers and professors?

I had the opportunity to meet my classmates during the welcome week in London, which was a fantastic start to building strong connections. We stay in touch regularly through our WhatsApp group, where we support each other with challenging topics. Additionally, we participate in live classes every two weeks, where we can engage with professors directly. If further questions arise, professors are always prompt in responding to emails, creating a great sense of community.

MSc Climate Change, Management & Finance

Our MSc Climate Change, Management & Finance is a one year, full-time programme informed by our expert advisory board of industry leaders. Drawing on expertise from across the Business School, the Grantham Institute, and Imperial London, this interdisciplinary programme explores the challenges and opportunities climate change presents, and how ��ý can face these head-on.

This year’s cohort is made up of 146 ��ý, with 56% of those ��ý being female. A truly global cohort, 39 nationalities are represented in the class, with an average age of 25.

Why did you choose to study MSc Climate Change, Management & Finance at Imperial Business School?

I chose to study MSc Climate Change, Management, and Finance at Imperial Business School because it uniquely combines my passion for sustainability with a practical, business-oriented perspective. With a background in Environmental Studies and Sustainability, I felt driven to deepen my understanding of the impacts of climate change on business and society, as well as the actions needed to address these challenges.

The programme’s interdisciplinary approach allows me to understand complex environmental issues through the lens of finance and management. Imperial's strong reputation in sustainability and finance solidified my decision, as I knew it would provide me with the tools and connections to achieve my long-term goal of establishing an environmental consulting firm dedicated to sustainable development in Senegal.

How're you finding the programme so far?

So far, the programme has been both intense and incredibly rewarding. Balancing academics with job applications, networking, and maintaining a social life is demanding, but the Business School offers extensive support, from Careers services to mental health resources, ensuring ��ý can thrive.

Content-wise, the programme has proven to be the ideal blend of business and sustainability; we explore various business sectors through the lens of climate change, examining how each intersects with sustainability. It requires strong time management and organisational skills to keep up with deadlines and group projects. Still, with a highly structured schedule and the supportive Imperial community, I feel equipped to handle the pace.

We have a weekly social reception, which has become an enjoyable part of my routine, helping me balance social interaction with my academic workload. With such a diverse and motivated cohort, I have found an inspiring network of classmates who are just as passionate about the environment and eager to discuss anything from the latest climate policies to fashion trends.

What was your highlight from Induction Week?

Our Welcome Day at the Science Museum stands out as an unforgettable experience. We were introduced to life at Imperial while enjoying breakfast and exploring the museum’s exhibitions, which created an exciting and welcoming atmosphere. Meeting ��ý from various programmes and taking our headshots added to the day’s charm, making us feel part of the Imperial community.

Another significant highlight was the “This is the Way” sessions, where we learned about different industries, including finance, energy, and technology. These sessions were invaluable for understanding the career landscape within these sectors and learning how to stand out in job applications.

Why did you choose to study MSc Climate Change, Management & Finance at Imperial Business School?

The journey towards sustainability is as much a personal transformation as it is a global one. Mine was sparked from the vantage point of Hambacher Forest. I gazed upon one of the largest strip mines in Germany and grasped what is meant by the exploitation of our planet. Participating in multiple rallies reflects not merely my commitment to the just transition, but also embodies my ethos: to critically engage with contentious issues and, if necessary, to deviate from societal norms for ethical integrity.

My journey thus far reflects a blend of analytical rigor and pragmatic, innovative problem-solving. At Imperial Business School, I seek to deepen this synthesis.

Specifically, MSc Climate Change, Management & Finance with its unique, impact-driven and enterprise-centric syllabus, is tailored to my professional trajectory.

What was your highlight from Induction Week?

While the Induction Week had its share of standout moments—like having the Science Museum reserved just for us, exploring the campus for the first time, and attending the scholarship breakfast—what truly resonated with me was, and I can’t stress this point enough, the opportunity to meet so many impressive, forward-thinking, and inspiring individuals.

Engaging with such a dynamic group of people has been the highlight for me. People are my greatest source of both satisfaction and learning, and being surrounded by such a cohort is not only rewarding but also a privilege.

How does it feel to be studying in London?

The first time I walked through South Kensington, I felt like I’d stepped into a postcard. With its iconic museums and elegant townhouses, the area is undeniably impressive. Passing through Hyde Park brought a refreshing change—just moments from London’s bustle, I found myself in a vast green space with only the occasional cyclist speeding by. That contrast highlighted London’s unique blend of energy and calm, and my impressions since then have only deepened. Studying here is an incredible experience, and I’m excited to dive further into the city’s culture and vibrancy.

On a professional level, being in London offers unparalleled access to top institutions and businesses. I look forward to engaging in Imperial’s programmes, challenges, and clubs, and connecting with the many companies based here. MSc Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Management

MSc Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Management at Imperial is designed to empower the next generation of venture founders, venture builders, innovators, and investors to create and grow new business opportunities while considering the implications of social and environmental factors.

As well as the varied programme content, there are many opportunities for ��ý to get involved in Imperial’s dynamic enterprising culture including the Imperial Enterprise Lab.

This year’s cohort of 121 ��ý come from across the world, representing 40 different nationalities with 59% female ��ý and an average age of 24.

The programme fosters a shared passion for entrepreneurship among all ��ý, regardless of their prior experience.

Why did you choose to study MSc Innovation, Entrepreneurship, & Management at Imperial Business School?

After graduating with a degree in Economics, I embraced a range of opportunities, gaining experience in renewable energy, boutique consulting, family real estate, and the NGO sector. While not a traditional path, these roles provided invaluable insights and helped me clarify my goal: to create a social impact business. This led me to apply for the MSc in Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Management at Imperial Business School, a programme that brings together diverse perspectives from around the world. I believe this blend of cultural and personal experiences is crucial for inspiring innovative ideas and building a successful startup.

How does the curriculum align with your career goals?

What networking opportunities have you had since starting your programme?

Imperial Business School believes networking is the cornerstone for business success which is why, since day one, I have been attending networking events organised by the faculty. Even if you are an ambivert, like me, you will still enjoy the networking events as they come in various formats from casual after-class gatherings to immersive away days. The MSc Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Management at Imperial aligns perfectly with my goal of becoming an entrepreneurial leader. Its focus on design thinking, strategic management, and practical experience will equip me to drive innovation and positive change.

What hobbies or interests do you have outside of your academic life?

Outside of academics, I’m passionate about football, having played at a semi-professional level against teams like QPR and Crystal Palace. This experience taught me teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.

At Imperial, I plan to join the women’s football club to stay active and connect with fellow ��ý. I also aim to participate in the Consulting and Venture Capital Clubs to expand my professional network and gain insights into key business areas.

These extracurricular activities will enrich my university experience and help me build valuable skills and connections for my future career.

MSc Global Health Management

The MSc Global Health Management (previously MSc International Health Management) adopts an interdisciplinary approach, extending beyond traditional healthcare management and leadership training. The programme invites ��ý to examine a wide range of interconnected factors—including innovation and technology, socioeconomic and environmental influences, policymaking, sustainability, and data and analytics—that are critical to advancing the future of global healthcare. The goal is to prepare future healthcare leaders with a unique skill set to shape the agenda and tackle complex global challenges across the healthcare sector, whether in private industry, government, international organisations, or healthcare service providers.

Customised pathways within the programme
Following a recent redesign, the programme is structured for the future, featuring a blend of specialised health modules and pathways in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Management, or Economics & Data Science. Towards the end of the programme, ��ý enhance their learning through experiential modules and electives, gaining real-world experience while tailoring their studies. Graduates are prepared to challenge conventional boundaries and drive meaningful systemic change within health ecosystems worldwide.

This year’s class of 138 ��ý represents a vast range of nationalities, with ��ý joining from 26 different countries around the world. 73% of the ��ý are female, with an average age of 23.

Undergraduate education: Bioethics, Amherst College

Why did you choose to study MSc Global Health Management at Imperial Business School?

I am a learner. I chose to learn in London because I wanted to experience living in one of the most diverse and international cities in the world. I chose to learn at Imperial Business School because I wanted to be surrounded by some of the brightest minds from around the world. Now, I choose to learn about Global Health Management because I want to discover how I might come to embody the Imperial ethos and enable science–as it relates to health– for humanity. Learning is not isolated to lecture halls, and I wanted a phenomenal education that aligns with my academic and career interests as well as the chance to broaden my horizons in a truly cosmopolitan city.

What are your long-term career goals?

Before I applied to study MSc Global Health Management at Imperial, I spoke with the Academic Director and admitted that I was struggling with identifying my long-term career goals. I knew I had a passion for health and healthcare, but I did not yet know how I wanted to pursue this passion. While I initially believed my uncertainty would be a negative aspect of my candidacy, I was reassured that this programme and Imperial are designed precisely to kindle these kinds of interests and help ��ý discover a sense of direction.

Fuelled by the entrepreneurial spirit of Imperial and with the guidance of the faculty, I am currently interested in pursuing innovation and entrepreneurship within the healthcare industry. Advisors from the Enterprise Lab are helping me turn a clinical diagnostic assay passion project into a commercially viable startup.

Simultaneously, with the help of Imperial Business School Career Advisors, I have been applying to venture capital and early-stage private equity firms that focus on biotech, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare startups. My long-term goal is to pursue a career where I can impact meaningful change for patient populations.

How does it feel to be studying in London?

London is culture. I love exploring the dozens of world class museums–most of which are free entry. Just in South Kensington alone, Imperial is less than a five-minute walk away from the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

I love wandering through the variety of food markets that offer cuisines from all over the world. When a food vendor offers me a sample, no matter how much I’ve eaten already, I always say yes. I love immersing myself in the football culture of London: playing, cheering, supporting, crying, elating with others. From Premier League to the National League, I hope to visit as many stadiums as I can throughout my short year here. If life is interesting, London is interesting.

Why did you choose to study MSc Global Health Management at Imperial Business School?

Like many others, I entered university unsure of what I wanted to do after graduation. As a result, I chose to study what I enjoyed most at the time, which was English Literature.

Afterward, I completed some internships but still felt the need to develop the fundamental skills required to excel in a business setting, which led me to apply to Imperial.

The programme structure particularly appealed to me, as it exposes you to a broad range of business functions such as finance, strategy and marketing. While this is common in many MiM programmes, what sets Imperial apart is its flexibility: you can choose electives that best suit your interests or specialise in a particular sector.

How does the curriculum align with your career goals?

Before my Master’s, I struggled with the knowledge and confidence to answer technical interview questions. The programme has addressed this in just a few months. The modules encourage a new approach to business challenges, and by gaining a solid understanding of strategy, accounting, and operations, I feel more confident for interviews and ready to start work after graduation.

Imperial’s Careers resources are also extensive. Before arriving on campus, I had access to the Careers team and booked a 1-2-1 session in the summer to discuss my goals. As a student, I have unlimited access to services like CV reviews, mock interviews, case preparation and group tasks.

How does it feel to be studying in London, what do you look forward to exploring the most?

Growing up in Kent, I was on the edge of London, visiting occasionally. Now, there’s always something to do, and I’m closer to the Emirates, which is a bonus. The campus is ideally located next to Hyde Park, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Science and Natural History Museums. I look forward to exploring museums (most of which are free) and hopefully catching a few Arsenal games.

Studying MSc Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Management

The most powerful aspect of studying MSc Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Management at Imperial Business School was the diversity in the cohort. Not only from a nationality point of view, but also the previous experiences everyone brought to the table. The Master's itself was a good introduction to every single component of a business. For instance, the fact that we explored topics such as design thinking and venture capital, allowed me to feel confident when developing my own my startup. Another aspect I found drastically different from my Bachelor's was that a lot of my classmates signed up for this Master's with the dream of having their own business one day, which created a certain energy within the cohort. It was great! Quite a few of us have since launched our own ventures.

Acting as Head of FMCG for the FMCG, Luxury and Retail Club

Being part of a club during university is a great way to connect with other people you wouldn't have access to if that wasn't through a shared passion. After an internship I did in private equity, I knew that Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) was the industry I wanted to work in. The reason why I wanted to join the committee of the FMCG, Luxury and Retail Club was to get more people to learn about this industry and hopefully inspire others to join the same path. As the Head of FMCG, I had to organise events and give members the opportunity to network and meet inspiring people. It was great because I had the chance to connect with promising people in the industry and learn from their experiences. 

Winning the PepsiCo ‘Dare to Do More Challenge’

I joined PepsiCo by winning the Global 'Dare to Do More Challenge'. The challenge allows ��ý to come up with an idea, the products of tomorrow, pitch it to a PepsiCo jury and hopefully win a spot at the company. I won the European challenge which gave me the chance, among 7 other global winners, to fly to New York and present my idea to PepsiCo's CEO, Ramon Laguarta, and his leadership team. I then started the three year long graduate programme in the insight function.

My idea was called Pepsi Drops, an effervescent version of soda to fight single-use bottles. Basically, a Berocca but soda. 7up, Pepsi, Gatorade, whatever you want, with gas or not, into a tube that you can transport anywhere. In the Western world, most people have access to water and a bottle so you can just drop the Pepsi Drops in your bottle and have a soda on the go. 

Working for PepsiCo

1st year: UK Shopper Insights
I worked as part of an umbrella team named DX (Demand Accelerator) within the sales team and collaborated closely with the perfect store, category management and shopper marketing teams. Through this role, we analysed shoppers' perceptions and buying behaviours to optimise sales in all of PepsiCo's UK channels and categories including snacks, juice and grains.

2nd year: Western Europe Consumer Insights - Lay's
In opposition to shopper insights, within the consumer insights team, we focused on being the voice of the consumer rather than the shopper. The difference is that a consumer is everyone who consumes a product, but a consumer only becomes a shopper at points of sale. During my time in the Western Europe Lay's team, I worked together with Lay's marketing team to ensure Lay's brand growth strategy is in line with market needs, campaigns are consumer-centric, and Lay's performance was well understood by all teams. This role was very cross-functional through the collaboration with research and development (R&D), finance & commercialisation.

Founding Saved

I started Saved when I was still at PepsiCo and wanted to be able to have my own impact on the planet. This is why I began eating more plant-based foods to fight climate change. I started to buy meat alternatives that are convenient but too processed, moved to tofu but had no idea how to make it taste good, then finally switched to eating more legumes but felt constantly bloated. At the same time, I found out about insect protein and how digestible and sustainable it is. This is how I started integrating cricket protein into foods I loved. I felt energised, not bloated, and finally found the sustainable alternative protein that suited me. So, it didn't take me long to decide to quit PepsiCo to launch Saved to help other people to make small changes too. The experience so far has been very enlightening; there is not a day during which I'm not learning something. Being able to grow as a person as well as create a company from scratch is really gratifying. Being a solo founder can be challenging, and having now hired my first employees, it's been great to see other people aspire to share the same vision.

How the Business School supported my journey to where I am today

Firstly, I have to say a massive thank you to the Careers team. I maximised my use of their support and resources to help me secure my first job. Without them, the road to my first job would have been much harder. My advice to current or prospective ��ý would be to ask for help on your CV, cover letters, interview preparations (including assessment centres) and case study practice.

Secondly, I was fortunate to be selected as a finalist on the WE Innovate programme 2022 with Saved. The Enterprise Lab at Imperial London has been a great help along the journey through mentorship, their alumni network and more support through various programmes.
